James is a United States Marine Corps veteran who served eight years as a tank commander and instructor. Following his military service, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Criminology from Florida State University and then spent nearly three years as a police officer in Panama City, Florida. After his law enforcement career, James earned a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the University of West Florida before obtaining his Juris Doctor from the University of South Dakota.
